Upcoming Dialogue with Business Practitioners on National Action Plans

The International Corporate Accountability Roundtable (ICAR) and the Danish Institute for Human Rights (DIHR) are undertaking consultations with experts and key stakeholders across world regions to gain valuable inputs into the National Action Plans (NAPs) Project. The NAPs Project is developing a comprehensive Toolkit to support national development and evaluation of State-level measures to implement the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs).

The NAPs Project has already completed three regional consultations in Europe, Africa, and Latin America; a global consultation during the Second Annual UN Forum on Business and Human Rights; and numerous bilateral consultations with a range of experts and other relevant actors. Consultation participants’ inputs will feed into the final results of the Project, which will be released in June 2014.

As part of these ongoing consultations, the NAPs Project has initiated a Dialogue on National Action Plans with business practitioners, taking place in London on 9 April 2014. The Dialogue is supported by the Global Business Initiative on Human Rights (GBI).

This event will bring together approximately 44 participants from the business and investor communities, as well as several representatives from governments, civil society, and other stakeholder groups. The overall objective of the event is to facilitate understanding of the perspectives of business practitioners regarding the scope, content, and development of NAPs on business and human rights.

For the full program of the Dialogue, including objectives, a finalized agenda, and a list of participants, see the materials below or click here to download.
