The UN Working Group (WG) on the issue of human rights and transnational corporations and other business enterprises will be conducting a country mission to the US from April 22^nd to May 1^st, 2013.

The purpose of the WG mission to the US is to focus on efforts, experiences, challenges and lessons learned relating to implementation of the Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights in the US.

On April 23rd, 2013 the International Corporate Accountability Roundtable (ICAR) will be convening a broad set of civil society stakeholders to present to the WG on key areas of business and human rights in the US and on the civil society perspective of the US implementation of the Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.

ICAR has invited certain leading representatives from civil society to speak in panels focused on the State Duty to Protect, and Access to Remedy. For all others, if you would like to secure a 3-5 minute time slot during the “Open Session” of the program, please email Amol Mehra. Space is limited for these slots, but ICAR will endeavor to give as much time as possible to interested speakers.

Furthermore, for all civil society organizations, we have set up the following link for you to upload submissions to the WG that ICAR will produce into a compendium which will be presented to the WG, the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights and the U.S. Government, as a “state of play” from civil society in the United States on implementation of the UN Guiding Principles.
